NGC 2346, also known as the Butterfly Nebula, is a planetary nebula near the
celestial equator in the constellation of Monoceros. The nebula is quite
bright and has been extensively studied. The central star is a spectroscopic
binary, consisting of a cool main sequence star and a hot white dwarf. |
