| Notes: |
Kohoutek 1-16 is a planetary nebula in the constellation Draco with a low
surface brightness and a diameter of about 1.6 arcmin. The central star of
this planetary nebula is a very hot pulsating star, known as DS Dra. The object identification image shows the 14 mag quasar [HB89] 1821+643 near the southeastern edge of PN K 1-16. This quasar is embedded in a 3.3 billion light-years distant galaxy cluster. To the east of PN K 1-16 one can find an extremely reddish star. This star is known as IY Dra, a pulsating Mira variable. |
